Every year almost 5000 of children in Russia get down with cancer. The statistics is horrifying - malignant growths are the main cause of the death of children under 15 being inferior only to accidents in the majority of age groups.

All of this is horrifying but it's necessary to understand the main idea - children's cancer is curable!

This treatment is very difficult both physically and morally, this treatment is very expensive and long, but a child's organism is able to stand it. Nearly 80% of children in the world overcome this dreadful ailment. In Russia nowadays nearly the half of diseased children goes through it. Behind all these figures and percentage there are concrete children, real life's tragedies and hopes. There's only one common desire - to live!

Children got down with cancer... All of us live in cities more, aim at career success or just worry about our own well-being. How else? - You can ask. What can be more important than my own family and relatives? But in the featureless seclusion and insularity of our little apartment worlds the circle of relatives and dear to us people who's fates we aren't indifferent to, who's lives we can share gets too narrow. And the world outside of our dear homes, beyond our usual understanding and usual words: "How are you? - I'm fine, thanks.", - seems to us too far and almost unreal. To think about somebody else, to help someone when you don't have neither strength, nor time, nor means? Today too many things became "alien" to us. When people are faced with cancer (even if it is an indirect contact) their first reaction is a shock. That's impossible! And then if it fortunately didn't become the reality of our own life, we can forget it as if it were a bad dream, let ourselves not to think about it and "erase this accidental information from the memory". But instead we can help those people who got into trouble. Nothing impossible or which is beyond our strength is required of us, after all.

"For I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in I was naked and you gave me clothing, I was sick and you took care of me, I was in prison and you visited me." (Matthew, 25:35-36). Humanity is required of us (but sometimes it turns out to be difficult). Not to heal, but visit and do our best to help. And the matter concerns not "feats" of compassion but human sympathy, possibility to overcome your own fear, to think about somebody else, to enlarge your heart. It's a question of our Human being, being with somebody and for somebody else. There's a very beautiful expression in Armenian language - "I'll take your pain". The trouble of these children and their parents is not ours but it's not alien to us. We mustn't live in somebody else's suffering (it's impossible and useless) but we can sympathize with a person and help him.

Children got down with cancer...These are the children who desire to live. These are the children who got into trouble and need some help. The help of not somebody distant who has time and means, but participation of everyone, our help.

  Nastya

Each of us helped children from oncology ward of The Russian Children's Clinical Hospital (RCCH) independently of one another. Once we met each other and understood that if we combine our efforts, there'll be done much more for these children. Thus the idea to make the charity organization providing support to children, suffering from oncological and oncohematological diseases occurred. We decided to name our creation simply "Life". Because it's the most important and big reward in the fight against the disease.

Aims:

1. The search of financial sources with the purpose of providing ill children with all diagnostic actions and examinations, which are necessary during the treatment or with the purpose of making the right diagnosis;

2. The search of cash means which are necessary for paying for advanced methods of the treatment (such as marrow transplantation, endoprosthesis replacement, etc.);

3. The help in buying of expensive medical products for critically ill children;

4. In case of need (extremely low money income or lack of it) simultaneous providing material assistance to the family of a critically ill child.

(Children spend in the hospital many long months and even years. All that time mothers are beside their children 24 hours a day. They live in the hospital and certainly they can't work.
Many children are from single-parent families, and the cash means they brought along go short.
All this is extremely difficult both morally and in the context of everyday life);

5. Providing psychological assistance to critically ill children and their families;

6. The organization of cultural programs for critically ill children;

7. Providing highest possible treatment to a child both in our country and abroad.

Dear friends,

Thank you for coming to this page. Children need your help, sympathy, care and concern. Even if you are not rich you may help by buying a book or a toy as a present for a sick child.

What is needed

1. Target recipient-oriented help in payment of any particular kid treatment. While transferring a charitable contribution you are to state surname and first name of the child you want to help.

2. Assistance in buying medicines and disposables for children's hospital

3. You can make a donation for "all of the children". We will spend this money for treatment of the child/children who needs it most urgently at the moment

4. Assistance in domestic problems solving.

We always need:
